As the summer wraps up and Auto Remarketing Conferences continues to plan for the 2012 Used Car Week, organizers revealed late last week that this year’s Women in Remarketing honorees will be recognized with a special awards ceremony during the National Remarketing Conference, scheduled for Nov. 14–16.

Auto Remarketing Conferences will be congratulating these women in person at 2 p.m., on Thursday, Nov. 15.

The 13 women honored this year represent an array of segments within the used-car and remarketing business, from auctions to OEMs to dealerships and more.

Moreover, three of the women honored will also be offering their insights to the industry during certain educational sessions at the NRC conference.

First up, chief executive officer of FordDirect, Stacey Coopes, will be speaking during Thursday’s keynote session, titled, "The State of the Used Car Industry:  An in-depth discussion with top executives focused on key markets, important methods and critical metrics in the retail and wholesale segments of the Used Car Industry."

Allison Lind, department manager of residual risk and remarketing strategy at Mercedes-Benz, will be speaking during Thursday’s iRemarketing panel.

And Stephanie Gingras, auction manager at Dealers Auto Auction of the SouthWest, will take part in an Auction Panel during the event.

Conference organizers also revealed other speakers attendees will hear from during Thursday’s NRC keynote session:

•    Hal McLarty, corporate used car director, Sonic Automotive
•    Ron Buck, head of North American Remarketing & US Funding, TD AutoFinance
•    Greg Thibault, director of remarketing, AVIS/Budget Group
•    Jennifer Costabile, general director fleet & commercial, GM

Other speakers will be announced as planning continues.

Highlighting the conferences, starting with the CPO Dealer Forum, Used Car Week gets under way with an event designed specifically for dealers.

This intensely educational two-day gathering — held Nov. 12–13 — will shine the spotlight on the certified pre-owned industry. The nation’s top dealers will share their on-the-lot experiences with selling, pricing, sourcing and marketing their CPO vehicles.

Attendees will have opportunities to ask questions, share best practices and start conversations with dealers from across the country, leaving the event with fresh new actionable ideas for maximizing profits in their certified pre-owned sales.

On Nov. 14 will be the Re3 event, which focuses on Repossession, Recovery and Remarketing. This year, in addition to learning from on-stage discussions among some of the repossession, recovery and remarketing industries’ top names, attendees will be able to delve deeper into the hot topics that directly impact them. in small-group workshop sessions.

Used Car Week will wrap up with the National Remarketing Conference from Nov. 14–16.

NRC — Used Car Week’s flagship event — is now in its 13th year, and it remains at the leading edge of the remarketing industry.

The event is part of the Used Car Week conferences, which are being held at The Phoenician Resort in Scottsdale, Ariz., from Nov. 12 through 16.
