NEW YORK -

Sirius XM Radio has expanded its footprint in the used-vehicle business once again.

It announced Monday that all Volkswagen dealers in the U.S. can now provide all used-vehicle customers with a three-month SiriusXM subscription, regardless of the car’s OEM, as long as the vehicle has factory-installed satellite radio.

Volkswagen of America had already been giving customers purchasing new VW vehicles equipped with satellite radio a three-month SiriusXM subscription — and this deal continues — but now is doing the same on the used-car side.

"Customers now buying pre-owned Volkswagen vehicles, and non-VW vehicles from participating Volkswagen dealerships, can be assured of getting best-in-class audio entertainment at the touch of a button," said Joe Verbrugge, senior vice president and general manager of automotive remarketing and retail sales at SiriusXM.

"The list of dealers across the country making SiriusXM available to all their pre-owned vehicle customers continues to grow, and we are proud that Volkswagen sees the value of giving their customers a 3-month SiriusXM subscription,” he continued.

Scott Weitzman, general manager of used-vehicle operations at VW of America, added: “Volkswagen is pleased to offer our customers in-vehicle entertainment such as SiriusXM. We are also committed to supporting the ability of our dealers to offer their customers the most attractive selection of vehicles with the latest features.

“The SiriusXM pre-owned program allows Volkswagen dealers to effectively demonstrate satellite radio to their used car customers and the 3-month subscription is a core pillar of our new WorldAuto pre-owned vehicle program that will launch at Volkswagen dealerships nationwide in October,” he continued.
