LAS VEGAS -

Recovery Specialist Insurance Group and Allied Finance Adjusters recently hosted a joint compliance training seminar in conjunction with Allied’s mid-year meeting at the Golden Nugget Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas.

RSIG’s director of education Michael Howk and Allied’s compliance and education chairman Tom Wentling presented a full-day session on compliance.

Howk and Wentling gave attendees sample documents that can be customized for their business needs as well as the policies, procedures and forms needed to ensure that the member’s agency is prepared for the lenders expectations and compliance with the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau.

Officials indicated more than 120 agents and staff members were in attendance at the professional development and training event.

For RSIG and Allied members not able to attend the event, Howk and Wentling highlighted that the documents will be made available through future joint meetings and each organization’s secure website.

RSIG and Allied intend to continue to offer their members updates to these documents and policies as needed and encourage their members to begin regular training sessions with their office and field staff to ensure everyone is prepared to deal with these new challenges.

“Both organizations stand ready to assist their members should questions arise,” Howk and Wentling declared.

“As the value of training, education and professional development becomes the cornerstone of every successful repossession business, Recovery Specialist Insurance Group and Allied Finance Adjusters are proud as leaders in the industry to help our members position themselves to succeed in this ever evolving industry,” they continued.

“As the industry continues to change, we remain steadfast in our desire, intent and ability to assist our growing memberships by continuing to offer these free and most important services and benefits of membership,” they went on to say.

Before gathering in Las Vegas, Allied Finance Adjusters recently played host to an educational seminar titled, “Repossessions: Before and After You Take Possession,” to a large audience of lending institutions and AFA members.

The seminar at the Long Beach Marriott in Long Beach, Calif., featured legal expert Eric North of Moore, Brewer, Wolfe, Jones, Tyler and North as well as NorthLegal Training and Publications.

The seminar covered California repossession laws and procedures and more than 100 lenders attended the all-day training session.

Prior to North’s presentation, AFA president George Badeen presented AFA’s new video, “How to Select a Properly Trained and Qualified Repossessor.”

The day concluded with a networking reception that allowed lenders and repossessors to exchange views and ideas about the industry.

The Long Beach seminar was the second in a series of which AFA is producing nationwide for lenders and repossessors. The premiere event was held this past May in Chicago.
