DEARBORN, Mich. -

When the combined Ford, Lincoln and Mercury certified pre-owned sales figures are tallied for full-year 2012, the final count is expected to be the second-highest total ever for the automaker, according to national CPO sales manager Todd Fites.

What’s more, the Lincoln brand — in just 11 months — has already achieved its strongest CPO year on record, Fites said.

All told, the automaker has moved 156,747 certified vehicles through November, which puts it 32.3 percent ahead of last year’s pace. The Lincoln brand itself has sold 17,839 certified units for a 27-percent hike.

In November, Lincoln sold 1,405 CPO rides, which was down 8.5 percent from November 2011, and there were 12,715 Ford/Mercury CPO sales (up 35.5 percent).

“Another solid month for the Ford and Lincoln certified pre-owned programs,” Fites told Auto Remarketing.

“I credit the entire CPO team with the tremendous progress we have made this year against our five-year business plan goal of growing our CPO share to our new vehicle share levels,” he continued. “Our dealer body, suppliers, ad agency and the entire Ford and Lincoln general office and field staff have embraced the challenge of growing the CPO business.

“We are looking forward to closing out 2012 with a strong finish and taking another major step forward in 2013.”
