ATLANTA -

A newly-launched Manheim product offering advanced mobile bid and buy options is already earning kudos in the technological world.

Manheim this week announced its win of the Product Launch of the Year award for its new product Simulcast on Mobile, from the Technology Association of Georgia Product Management Society.

Simulcast on Mobile allows dealers to bid on and buy used-vehicle inventory anytime and anywhere using their mobile device, the company said; for example, dealers can transact business in one physical lane while simultaneously purchasing vehicles digitally via Smartphone from another lane or even another auction.

The traditional Simulcast product allows bids and buys at Manheim auction-house locations from desktop or laptop computers.

Beta testing for Simulcast on Mobile began in December, and the product was officially launched at the 2013 National Automobile Dealers Association convention earlier this month.

Simulcast on Mobile is currently available on Apple devices, and will launch in the Android marketplace this spring, company officials said.

“We’re honored to receive this award from TAG, and I’m so proud of the team who helped to bring Simulcast on Mobile to the market,” said Bonnie Hensler, vice president of product operations for Manheim.

“The successful launch of Simulcast on Mobile was a collaborative effort between many departments across Manheim, and it’s all part of our mission to put game-changing information in our customers’ hands. Our product development strategy boils down to one thing — provide visionary solutions to help our customers win.”

The Simulcast product line was launched in 2002 and today accounts for about 16 percent of Manheim’s business, the company said.
