BEL AIR, Md. -

BSC America recently announced that its Bel Air Auto Auction has opened a new marshalling facility in Belcamp, Md., which is 11 miles from the auction’s main campus.

The marshalling facility includes 14 paved and fenced acres and features three offices and five bays. It can accommodate 2,500 vehicles.

Cynthia Mitchell, vice president of fleet/lease and remarketing at BSC America, said that in the past, the auction had offered marshalling services for PHH and GSA at its main facility.  However, with volumes climbing as of late, the acquisition of the Riverside property was necessary.

In fact, the auction brought in a new region for its GSA sale, which more than doubled the number of marshaled units, she added.

“With a full staff and 24/7 security at the Riverside facility, we can continue to offer top-notch service to our marshalling accounts,” Mitchell said

“All new cars are now dropped by the manufacturers directly at the new marshalling center, where a dedicated staff prepares them for delivery to their customers,” she noted. “Used cars for these accounts, in turn, are processed and taken to the main facility at Bel Air Auto Auction for sale.”

The new facility is the most recent expansion Bel Air AA has made to accommodate growth.  Its special sale division rolled out its Clayton Station Building last spring; this facility is used for the weekly salvage/inoperable sale as well as the monthly powersports and truck and equipment sales.
