8 Characteristics of Consumers Who Intend to Purchase or Lease Within Next 3 Months
Breaking down the 38 percent of consumers who intend to purchase or lease a vehicle within the next three months, data from Phoenix Marketing International’s latest Automotive Brand and Advertising Audit took eight car-shopping attributes and diagrammed the prevalency of each within this contingent.
The firm found that more than 60 percent of those intenders already have researched vehicles online or plan to do so. The same level also plans to visit a dealership to gather more information about the model they want.
Another possible indicator of potential showroom traffic, Phoenix Marketing International discovered that nearly 60 percent of these intenders are looking to make a test drive within the next 30 days.
The next two characteristics constituted about 40 percent of these intenders. The firm found that this level of consumers either plans to research vehicles by talking with family and friends or they are looking to take advantage of a special offer from the dealership or automaker.
Finally, the remaining three attributes of these intenders settled at about 20 percent or lower in Phoenix Marketing International’s survey. They included plans to purchase or lease from the same dealership where they acquired their current vehicle, intention to remain brand loyal and work with the same dealership salesperson.
