MARKHAM, Ontario -

This holiday season, Honda Canada and Ontario Honda dealers gathered more than 3,000 toys for needy children.

The toy drive is in support of the 47th annual CP24 CHUM Christmas Wish, a nonprofit dedicated to helping children in need during the holidays.

The toy drive began on Nov. 18 and involved the participation of 77 Ontario Honda dealers.

Ontario residents were asked to bring a new, unwrapped toy to their local Honda dealer.

Then, dealers gave each donor a ballot, making them eligible to win a new car.

Out of 1,018 ballots, a winner was selected during the CP24 Breakfast broadcast in late December.

Larissa Foreman, from St. Catharines, Ontario, was the winner of a 2014 red 2014 Civic Sedan EX.

"The CP24 CHUM Christmas Wish brings joy to children and families in need and Honda Canada couldn't be happier to be a part of this important cause," said Jerry Chenkin, president and chief executive officer of Honda Canada. "We'd like to thank our customers and associates for their generous donations, as well as the continued involvement of Honda dealers across the province. This is what holiday giving is all about."
