Auto Remarketing: What is the top trend you’re watching in remarketing/wholesale automotive this year?

Roxanna Elliott: Current job statistics and hiring practices has been the top trend I have been watching this year. Finding a diverse and qualified/or willing to learn pool of individuals has been a challenge at all levels of the automotive marketplace. With inflation and the high demand for skilled workers is has been difficult to fill roles and sustain employee morale. Since our employee engagement is so vital to the customer service, we provide we have to remain diligent on employee happiness.

Auto Remarketing: How has technology/innovation impacted your specific area of remarketing/wholesale the most?

Elliott: Continued development of national data bases showing the history of vehicles continues to impact my area in the wholesale marketplace. Having so much information available is helping us to obtain key information faster, show errors sooner and sometimes creating more issues that require additional time and focus.

AR: What piece of career advice would you have for someone new to the industry?

Elliott: Being flexible and willing to change is key in this industry. As an auction employee customer service is what we have to provide at a high level at all times and this customer service will require some flexibility as each account, client and vendor will expect a slightly different level of service.

But this flexibility and change is what makes this career exciting. Each day can bring a new challenge that has to be tackled and winning these small battles brings a great amount of satisfaction.

AR: What is your proudest moment/accomplishment, career-wise?

Elliott: My proudest career moment was being selected, attending, and graduating Auction Academy. Having my company invest in my career development in this way was unexpected and I cherish every session I was able to attend in person and online.
