AutoNation launches online shopping platform for auto parts
AutoNation has launched a new platform to sell and deliver auto parts.
AutoNationParts.com is an e-commerce website that allows customers to purchase parts and accessories and have them shipped directly to their homes.
AutoNation said the site aims to provide fast nationwide shipping for guaranteed-to-fit genuine manufacturer parts from more than 25 brands in order to meet a growing demand from do-it-yourself mechanics and “do-it-for-me” customers who buy parts online and have them installed by their mechanic.
“Increasingly, consumers want the ability to go directly to a website and order exactly the car parts they need at a competitive price, with fast shipping times and transparent pricing,” AutoNation CEO Mike Manley said in a news release.
“People are holding on to cars longer. As the lifecycle of vehicle ownership grows, AutoNation wants to continue to be there for our customers who take pride in doing their own maintenance, repairs and customizations.”
In a news release, AutoNation cited research by market intelligence firm Mintel showing consumers are increasingly shopping online for auto parts, and nearly half of consumers — particularly millennials and Gen Z — have done their own vehicle maintenance, repairs or custom upgrades.
AutoNationParts.com is designed to allow customers to shop among multiple manufacturers for replacement and maintenance parts that fit their vehicles, as well as interior and exterior accessories to personalize and upgrade their vehicles. The site offers searches by VIN (to find an exact match), year, make, model, trim and engine, by browsing through categories or by keywords and part numbers.
