New version of TrueCar+ goes all in on digital retailing
TrueCar is going all in on digital retailing.
The digital automotive marketplace has announced the “next evolution” of its TrueCar+ platform, which now allows customers to purchase from more than 3,200 new, used and certified pre-owned vehicles completely online from start to finish.
“Our mission is to empower consumers with the tools and information they need to make confident car-buying decisions,” TrueCar CEO Jantoon Reigersman said in a news release. “This iteration of TrueCar+ represents a major milestone in achieving this goal by empowering people to buy a car fully online from the comfort of their home or wherever they may be.”
TrueCar+ is designed to offer a fully online buying experience that combines TrueCar’s vehicle data, pricing information and new- and used-car inventory with a full end-to-end purchasing process that includes trade-in, financing and delivery.
The company said it partners directly with dealers to “effectively extend their sales efforts 24/7, streamline their workflow, and grow their target market from a constrained local focus to a nationwide consumer base.”
The newest version of TrueCar+ includes:
- New, used and CPO inventory. The company said in a news release it plans to expand TrueCar+ inventory by adding more dealerships across the country over the next 12 months.
- Firm upfront price offers on any vehicle in stock, as well as on financing options and trade-in values.
- Dealers can offer a variety of online financing options directly through its platform, allowing buyers to compare rates, get pre-approved and secure loans without visiting the dealership.
- Guaranteed instant trade-in values and offers without the need for in-person vehicle inspections. Consumers can also arrange pickup of their trade-in online through TrueCar+.
- A home delivery service that enables consumers to complete the entire purchase process online and have their vehicle delivered to their home. Used vehicles are available for delivery throughout the contiguous U.S, excluding Massachusetts and New York. New vehicles will initially be available for delivery only in the San Francisco Bay Area – TrueCar said it expects to “rapidly” expand that to cover all of California.
TrueCar+ lets dealers to offer an extensive online selection of compatible accessories, additional warranties, maintenance packages and protection products consumers can add on during the online checkout process, as well as dedicated customer service support.
“TrueCar’s mission is to make the car-buying process as convenient and transparent as possible,” Reigersman said. “With the launch of TrueCar+, we are excited to bring a new level of ease, confidence and value to car buyers.”
