Canada-based dealership group HGreg is doing its part to help its adopted American home.

HGreg, which operates 10 dealerships in Florida, including one in the Tampa Bay area, has donated $10,000 to Feeding Tampa Bay, a local nonprofit dedicated to fighting hunger in the area.

The donation will support the organization’s ongoing relief efforts for those affected by hurricanes Helene and Milton, which hit the area back-to-back in late September and early October.

Feeding Tampa Bay has provided aid to hurricane-impacted communities, with a commitment to ongoing relief efforts that extend four to five months post-hurricane. HGreg said the funds from its donation will enable the organization to expand its initiatives, offering essential resources and food supplies to affected individuals and families.

“With the challenges facing Tampa Bay communities in the aftermath of the hurricanes, we recognize the importance of supporting Feeding Tampa Bay’s impactful work to help rebuild lives and provide essential resources locally,” HGreg CEO and president John Hairabedian said. “Our team is proud to contribute to such an important cause and stand with our community during this time of recovery.”

Feeding Tampa Bay’s objectives include:

Distributing essential food supplies: For every $1 donated, Feeding Tampa Bay can provide five meals to someone.

Expanding relief operations: The funding aids Feeding Tampa Bay in deploying its fleet to deliver food directly to communities severely affected by the hurricanes.

Increasing distributions: HGreg said its support will help Feeding Tampa Bay host 121 additional mass distributions, delivering more than 4.1 million meals and 30,966 hot meals to families and individuals in need.

Enhancing access to free groceries: An additional 1,951 people will have access to free groceries through Feeding Tampa Bay’s on-site Community Market.

“Feeding Tampa Bay is committed to building people-focused solutions and helping communities thrive now and in the future,” Feeding Tampa Bay CEO Thomas Mantz said. “Thanks to HGreg’s generosity, we can reach even more families, not only addressing immediate needs but also working to rebuild a stronger Tampa Bay.”
