Auction news: America’s Group adds Ferreri as CRO; Portland auction opens
Longtime OPENLANE leader Jason Ferreri has joined America’s Group as chief revenue officer, the company announced.
In a news release, America’s Group, which includes America’s Auto Auction and AXLE Funding, touted the addition of Ferreri as an illustration of its “dedication to driving innovation and growth” in the auto remarketing industry.
“Jason’s deep knowledge of automotive remarketing and his proven ability to drive transformation make him an exceptional fit for our executive team,” CEO Chuck Tapp said. “I’ve known Jason for years, and I’m excited to have him join us. His expertise in creating customer-focused solutions and driving growth will be a huge asset in helping us stay ahead of market trends and deliver even more value to our customers.”
The company said Ferreri’s role includes leading revenue-focused initiatives as well as overseeing sales, marketing, customer solutions and digital services, and noted he will “play a pivotal role in serving customers and advancing the company’s growth objectives.”
Ferreri’s resume includes more than 25 years of experience in the automotive remarketing industry, including almost 10 years in leadership positions with OPENLANE. He most recently served as executive vice president of customer solutions following stints as EVP of online services, senior vice president of sales and vice president of e-business.
He previously worked in management roles with Mercedes-Benz Financial and Chase Automotive, managing remarketing operations and fostering strategic partnerships.
Ferreri has also served on the boards of the Auto Auctions Services Corporation and the Automotive Remarketing Alliance, and on multiple committees for the National Auto Auction Association.
“I’m honored to join America’s Auto Auction at this exciting time in the industry,” he said. “With the remarketing landscape evolving rapidly, I’m eager to apply my experience to help the company build on its legacy of excellence and expand our offerings to meet the ever-growing needs of our customers.”
McConkey’s DAA Portland opens
McConkey Auction Group opened its newest physical auction, DAA Portland, with an opening sale featuring 700 vehicles on Dec. 19.
The company said the new facility will complement its MAG Now digital auction in Oregon, delivering “MAG’s signature services and dealer-focused values to the regional dealer community.”
MAG said in a news release it will hold a grand opening event in February to “celebrate the company’s entry into the Portland market and showcase its signature approach to auctions.”
In November, MAG president and CEO Bob McConkey announced his company’s plan for a brick-and-mortar auction in Portland, saying it had already acquired a 17-acre site “right in the heart” of the city.
“Portland is a natural fit for McConkey Auction Group’s growth strategy,” DAA Portland general manager Mike Stockton said. “We’re excited to bring our expertise, values and services to Portland dealers, helping them thrive in today’s competitive market.”
DAA Portland joins a MAG portfolio that includes physical auctions in Seattle and the company’s home base of Spokane, Wash., and MAG Now facilities in Medford, Ore, and Anchorage, Alaska.
McConkey said the new auction “reflects our commitment to growing with our dealer partners and delivering the best auction experience possible. Our deep commitment to the Portland market further expands our ability to completely serve the customers who call the Great Pacific Northwest their home.”
