SAN BRUNO, Calif. -
Ford and its Northern California dealers recently contributed $25,000 to help in the aftermath of the gas explosion that took place in San Bruno, Calif., earlier this month.
The funds were given to the Silicon Valley Community Foundation’s San Bruno Fire Fund, which will determine which non-profits benefit. Basically 100 percent of the donation will go to aid the affected area and victims.
The Northern California Ford Dealers represent 80 Ford dealers throughout the Bay area and from Central Valley to Sacramento and north to the Oregon border.
“We are all part of the same community and it’s important to help each other in times of need,” explained San Francisco regional sales, marketing and service manager Mark Wexler.
He went on to point out that Ford is offering $750 toward the purchase of new Ford vehicles for residents of the affected areas.
“We are so grateful to Ford Motor Co. and the dealers in Northern California for this generous donation,” said MariEllen Loijens, chief philanthropic development and information officer at the community foundation. “This contribution shows what happens when we come together as a caring community.”
