AutoNation’s New-Vehicle Sales Grow Rapidly in October
FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. -
Led by a 20-percent uptick for its domestic operating segment, AutoNation said Thursday that it posed a significant year-over-year gain in retail new-vehicle sales during October.
Overall, the dealership group moved 17,530 retail new units for the month. This marked a 15-percent gain from the year-ago period.
Breaking it down, the domestic operating segment had retail new-vehicle sales of 5,194, a 20-percent uptick.
New-vehicle retail sales for the import operating segment improved 16 percent on a year-over-year basis to 9,240 units in October.
Finally, AutoNation showed a 5-percent gain from October 2009 in premium luxury new-vehicle sales. The numbers for October 2010 came in at 3,096 units.
