AUBURN HILLS, Mich. -
Chrysler — which recently celebrated a year-over-year sales improvement for the seventh straight month — announced it is rolling out a new advertising message and campaign for dealers across all four of its brands that it says can “keep our momentum rolling” and finish 2010 in a strong way.
“The Big Finish of 2010” — which will run until Jan. 3 — draws on suggestions from the automaker’s dealer body. Each of the four brands will carry out the campaign in their own fashion, but the campaign will center on a common theme, officials said.
“All the brands are coming together for a big year-end event,” explained Fred Diaz, the Ram Truck brand’s president and chief executive officer and the lead executive for U.S. sales.
“We are proud of our seven consecutive months of year-over-year sales increases,” he continued. “This ‘Big Finish’ will help us to close out the year on a high note with a celebration that’s going to keep our momentum rolling.”

Chrysler hopes to use the campaign to generate floor traffic for the final two months of the year to move 2010 models to make room for 2011 models. The automaker announced many of its 2011 models will be brand new or significantly redesigned.

Explaining how the campaign will be conducted, officials noted that the “Big Finish” theme will be reflected in all ad materials throughout all brands, including items like newsprint, digital banner ads, postcards, e-mail, outdoor advertising, dealership posters, curb banners, under-the-hood placards, balloons and mirror hangers.
Chrysler said there will be more than 100 types of advertising featuring the “Big Finish” theme.
There will be unique tagline for each of the four brands, which include the following:
—Ram Truck: “This Year, No Faux Trees. And No Faux Trucks” and “The Year Is Winding Down. We’re Winding Up,” (these will be in newsprint ads).
—Chrysler brand: “We’ve Got Lots to Celebrate,”
—Jeep: “End the Year on a High Note.”

—Dodge: “We’re Throwing a Party and Everyone’s Invited.”

There will also be “Big Finish” radio and TV ads for each of the four brands.
Discussing these in more detail, officials noted that the Ram spot will feature a Ram 1500 Laramie pulling a Christmas tree off a lot “in a most unusual way.”
Meanwhile, the Dodge commercial will have a Christmas tree decoration using the Challenger SRT8 and a Journey AWD “in an unconventional, high-performance, tires-smoking way.”
The conclusion of all the spots is one of the automaker’s dealerships, officials noted.
