Texas VW Store Officially Gains New Owners
CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas -
The new ownership of Volkswagen of Corpus Christi has recently gained approval from the automaker. Progress at the dealership has been rolling along for months, the store says.
Partners Leo Griggs, Eddie Lee and Luis Perez bought the dealership back in June, and since then, they say it has shown a significant turnaround from what the store called an “underperforming dealership.”
“We saw a bright future with Volkswagen’s new products coming and believed this store was the perfect opportunity,” Lee shared.
In fact, there has been close to a 100-percent year-over-year improvement each month in sales. According to Lee, a major catalyst to the growth was the 2011 Jetta.
“Pricing under $16,000 — it’s been a runaway success for us,” he noted.
Furthermore, Lee noted that when he and his partners assumed control, “Customer satisfaction scores were at the bottom for regional VW dealership,” but things have changed dramatically in that regard.
The store was recently given the Customer Service Leader Trophy for the region. This resulted from the dealership’s customer satisfaction scores approaching 100 percent on the new-car side and hitting the 90s on the service front.
“With three owners, one of us is always here to make sure our customers are being taken care of,” Lee explained.
Looking forward to this year, Lee said: “Our goal is to sell 600 new cars and 800 used for 2011.”
Perhaps helping the store reach that feat will be the rollout of VW’s new midsize sedan this year, he suggested.
Touting the store’s Web presence, officials noted that the dealership’s website (www.vwofcc.com) allows consumers to search inventory, request quotes and gain pre-approval.
