Nissan Americas Fills Four Vice President Positions
FRANKLIN, Tenn. -
Nissan Americas unveiled a few shifts in its senior leadership, filling two newly created vice president positions and announcing two other vice president appointments, as well.
The company named Brad Thacker — vice president of business transformation and corporate services — to serve in the role of vice president of Total Customer Satisfaction.
In the new role, he will head up customer satisfaction throughout the Americas region and lead the company’s product safety department.
Meanwhile, Kevin Martin — whom Thacker replaces as vice president of TCS — moves on to the newly created role of vice president of manufacturing quality. He is charged with making sure there is a strong focus on product quality throughout the entire offering from Nissan. This responsibility includes supplier and manufacturer quality.
Also moving into a newly created position is vice president of market intelligence Dave Mazur, who becomes vice president of market intelligence, business transformation and corporate services.
Mazur will head up market and consumer research for Nissan Americas and will lead the company’s activities in structured problem-solving and business process improvement. Moreover, Mazur will be responsible for security operating and facilities management.
Finally, Nissan Americas named a vice president of vehicle production, manufacturing engineering and component facilities. Appointed to that role was Mark Swenson, vice president of vehicle production and manufacturing engineering.
The new post will be an expansion of his current role, where he oversees manufacturing engineering in Smyrna, Tenn.; Canton, Miss.; and Cuernavaca and Aguascalientes, Mexico. In his current position, Swenson also leads production at Nissan Technical Center North America’s in Farmington Hills, Mich.
In addition to these existing responsibilities, Swenson’s new duties will include leading Nissan’s component production in the U.S.
“These changes reflect the importance that quality and the voice of the customer will play as we expand Nissan’s product portfolio and presence throughout the Americas region,” said Nissan Americas chairman Carlos Tavares.
“With newly defined roles these executives and their respective teams will be able to sharpen our focus on specific aspects of quality and production to drive region-wide results,” he added. “At the same time, Dave’s oversight of both market intelligence and our regional business processes will help us more directly translate what we hear from customers into actionable improvement plans, which is critical in an increasingly competitive market environment.”
All of the aforementioned moves were immediately effective. Martin, Swenson and Thacker now report to Bill Krueger, Nissan Americas’ senior vice president of manufacturing, purchasing, supply chain management and TCS.
Meanwhile, Mazur reports to Scott Becker, Nissan Americas’ senior vice president of administration and finance.
