Cars.com Set for Super Sunday
CHICAGO -
After strong success rates in prior years, Cars.com will mark its fourth straight year of running Super Bowl advertisements on Sunday. The site’s two 30-second commercials will delve into the expert and consumer reviews provided by Cars.com.
The first ad — titled “Go First” — will run during the third quarter of the game and uses humorous situations as a parallel to show that shoppers can turn to car reviews to learn from “other who have gone before them.”
The second spot — titled “The Reviews are In” — will be aired during the fourth quarter. During this ad, vehicles are seen “talking” about how they were reviewed on the site.
“Advertising in the Super Bowl is a proven investment, which is why we’re returning,” stated Cars.com president Mitch Golub.
“The massive audience gives tremendous lift to our business, and as we continue to grow Cars.com and our offerings to car shoppers, it’s paramount that we devote our resources to avenues that will continue our trajectory as the fastest-growing brand in our category,” he added.
The ads ring in the 2011 marketing campaign for Cars.com, which will also advertise through another highly watched TV event this year: The Academy Awards.
Cars.com chief marketing officer Carolyn Crafts noted: We use our Super Bowl investment as the launching point for our annual media plan.
“In addition to the Super Bowl, we’re also planning a presence during The Academy Awards, and a robust digital and broadcast plan that will take us through the entire year,” she added. “Our goal is to continue to build overall brand awareness and sustain a high level of attention all year.”
