CENTREVILLE, Va. -
Cars.com has added a new search option to its site that can help Carfax-subscribing dealers attract more shoppers online.
Under the expansion to the two companies’ existing partnership, there is now a search category on Cars.com that allows shoppers to tailor their vehicle searches to just pull up the units that have Carfax Vehicle History Reports attached.
“Used-car buyers expect to see Carfax Reports and other important details included with cars listed online,” stated Larry Gamache, communications director at Carfax.
“The improved search options on Cars.com give Carfax-subscribing dealers an even greater advantage to increase their online sales,” he added.
Cars.com has been providing links to the history reports on the site listings from dealers who subscribe to Carfax for several years. The expanded partnership increases the visibility of these listings.
“I was looking for a commuter car on Cars.com and I found a dealer who had attached a Carfax Report to his ad," said John Ellsworth, of Stockton, Calif., who recently bought a used vehicle.
“Based upon the information provided on the Carfax Report, I found this to be the exact vehicle I had been looking for. The next day I drove to the dealership and purchased the car,” he continued.
Jeff Kershner, director of marketing for the Maryland-based Younger Auto Group, added: "As part of our commitment to being transparent with our customers, we provide free Carfax Reports with all of our used car listings.
“We offer shoppers all of the information we’d want as consumers so they can feel good about their purchase and their decision to buy from us,” he shared.
