CHARLESTON, S.C. -

Selig Technologies announced the  launch of a free iPhone application known as VIN Viper that allows dealers to use their iPhones for vehicle appraisals and pricing.

What’s more, VIN Viper has signed on Carfax to be a wireless partner, meaning that dealers can use the app to tap into their respective Carfax accounts for no extra fees.

“VIN Viper is making automotive appraisal fast and easy with our new application,” stated Selig Technologies president Jason Seligman.

“With a few taps of their iPhone, dealers can integrate their Carfax account for free and optionally add data values from the automotive industry’s most trusted sources — Black Book, NADA, Kelley Blue Book and AuctionNet,” he added. “We look forward to giving dealers everywhere a cost-effective solution using our native application to make the appraisal process extremely easy and efficient."

Carfax communications director Larry Gamache added: “Wireless technology makes it easier for dealers to buy and sell cars with confidence. Mobile apps such as VIN Viper give dealers instant access to valuable tools, including Carfax Vehicle History Reports, which help them stock their inventory with cars customers want.”

In addition to the aforementioned data sources, users can log into their respective accounts and tailor their plans by blending in additional data sources.

The program also allows dealers to snap vehicle photos and store them. Registered users can also tap into the online desktop suite. While there, they can utilize all iPhone appraisals, edit data and photos and create new appraisals. Furthermore, they can build reports and manage their respective accounts through the online desktop suite, as well.
