PORTLAND, Ore. -

Recognizing the exceptional growth in accessories sales revenues at franchise dealerships using the GM Accessories Digital Solution, General Motors and Chrome Systems announced Tuesday they’re orchestrating a new awards program honoring top-performing U.S. regional and national GM dealers and distributors.

Executives explained that  the inaugural GM Accessories Digital Solutions Dealer and Distributor Awards are geared to recognize individual dealers for outstanding accessories sales and per new unit retail volume, as well as the best use of technology in 2010. They indicated that the awards are to honor regional winners and recognize a national winner in the areas of top in-store process, top sales store and top distributor.

Chrome stated that the GM Accessories Digital Solution is the only accessories solution endorsed by GM for its dealers and distributors. The provider contends that the solution has one-of-a-kind functionality, including dynamic 360-degree, 3D visualization for most GM vehicles and a 24-hour turnaround of GM validated parts and pricing.

“Accessories are arguably the best way to add profit to every vehicle sold or serviced,” noted Philip Fallis, director of operations for emerging technology at Chrome

“GM dealers across the country are increasing their accessories sales and per new unit retail volume using the GM Accessories Digital Solution powered by Chrome, and we are recognizing their success and the stellar efforts of the distributors with these awards,” Fallis continued.

According to Jamie Burnell, national sales manager of accessories for GM, “since inception, GM dealers using the solution have grown their accessories sales.

“This year’s award winners are prime examples of how leveraging the digital solutions available to our dealers and distributors can have a positive impact on one’s bottom line,” Burnell added.
