WESTCHESTER, Ill. -

Insurance Auto Auctions broadens its coverage in South Carolina Monday by opening its third location in the state.

Seen as a complement to facilities in Charleston and Greenville, IAA started business in Columbia, South Carolina’s capital city.

Insurance Auto Auctions’ Columbia branch is located at 1416 Atlas Road.

In keeping with the company’s green philosophy with respect to the environment, IAA emphasized that it utilized recycled materials for the storage and inventory yard surface. Instead of building from the ground up, the company determined that enhancing and repurposing the existing facility — which housed a former truss manufacturing business — offered plenty of options and capacity.

“We are pleased to strategically expand our coverage with branch locations that make doing business with IAA convenient for our buyers and sellers alike,” stated Tom O’Brien, chief executive officer of Insurance Auto Auctions.

“IAA has the state covered end-to-end with locations in Charleston, Greenville and now Columbia,” O’Brien continued. “This is a strategic central location in South Carolina for IAA’s mature, international buyer base to participate in auctions either online or in person.

“Our vehicle providers will realize added benefits by way of reduced towing expense and a large capacity for a variety of salvage vehicles from cars and trucks to motorcycles and specialty vehicles,” he added.

Insurance Auto Auctions pointed out that auction preview dates and times vary for each facility. For more information about the new Columbia operation, call the branch at (803) 217-0109, or go to IAA’s branch information page at www.iaai.com.
