AAAG Shares Management Changes
Auto Remarketing has learned that American Auto Auction Group has made two management changes in light of recent brick-and-mortar facility additions and expanded mobile auction locations.
AAAG said that Ryan Rickey has new responsibilities with the company serving as vice president of business development, sales and marketing for AAAG’s National Auction Partners division. It was also announced that DeWayne Musick is now the general manager of Your Auction of Fort Myers, Fla.
National Auction Partners was created to lead the development of the Your Mobile auctions operating as part of AAAG. Your Mobile auctions offers onsite auctions at franchised dealership locations, and AAAG currently has nine of these mobile auctions in Florida.
Sharing more about the background of these two leaders, AAAG noted that Rickey started at Your Auction in 2001, working in operations before moving into a position managing a fleet of mobile sales. He became director of operations for Florida’s West Coast in 2003 and then was tapped as Your Auction of Fort Myers’ assistant general manager in 2005.
Rickey became general manager of both Your Auction of Fort Myers, as well as the mobile division.
As for Musick, his experience in the auction business is quite extensive as well. In 1983, he and his father, past NAAA president Lin Musick, bought Pensacola Auto Auction.
It was sold to Greater Auction Group in 1995 and was eventually purchased by Manheim. At that point, the younger Musick became the general manager for Manheim’s St. Petersburg, Fla. location.
He returned to Pensacola in 2000 and opened Gulf States Auto Auction in 2001. Following the sale of that auction in 2010, he started Coastal Dealer Services, a lender for independent dealers in the region.
“Both Ryan Rickey and DeWayne Musick have strong backgrounds in both auction operations and customer service, which has prepared them for their new responsibilities with AAAG,” said AAAG founding member, director and chief operating officer Keith Lelux, who made the announcements. “We’re pleased that they are part of our management team and know that their skills and experience will be crucial elements in helping our business move forward.”
