ABC Adds New Managing Partner

Auction Broadcasting Co. recently revealed an auction veteran is reuniting with Mike and Jason Hockett to join their management team.
Tapped to be a managing partner in the auction division is Jim Phillips.
ABC highlighted that Phillips started his auction career in 1983 working for Mike Hockett and Chet Goins at ADE in Indianapolis and later moved to ADE Birmingham in 1987, which became ADESA’s first auto auction. Mike Hockett pointed out Phillips served in all capacities, including assistant general manager.
After leaving ADESA in 1997, Phillips owned Logan Martin Home Centers, which were retail centers for Fleetwood.
In June 2002, Phillips and former ADESA chief operation officer Dave Hill started Alabama Auto Auction in Moody, Ala.
In January 2009 Alabama Auto Auction moved to a 42-acre, six-lane facility. Then early last year, Phillips and Alabama Auto Auction partnered with ABC.
“Jim knows how to run an auto auction better than anyone I know,” declared Jason Hockett, who serves as vice president and managing partner of ABC.
“ABC Birmingham has been auction of the year for CPS, three years running, and the auction received the best customer service award from ARI, LeasePlan USA and Westlake Financial,” Jason Hockett continued.
“By earning these very special awards, this tells you that Jim and his staff have put their customer’s needs first,” he went on to say. “I worked under Jim for several years, and it’s truly an honor to work alongside him in growing ABC Auctions in a strategic marketplace.”
