DALLAS -

America’s Auto Auction Inc. has acquired its 10th location with the acquisition of Auction Broadcasting Company’s Redtop Auto Auction Atlanta.

The auction is located in Cartersville, Ga.

Ben Lange, president and chief operating officer of America’s Auto Auction stated,  “I am pleased to announce that effective March 30, 2012, Red Top Auto Auction Atlanta, has become the 10th auction owned by America’s Auto Auction, Dallas, Texas.

“The facility is ideally situated to serve the Atlanta market, and we are looking forward to serving new and used car dealers, as well as many commercial accounts in that region,” he added.

Lange also noted that the addition of this auction will work well with the company’s existing facilities in the area.

“The addition of this facility expands our Southeastern footprint and will provide regional synergies with our existing Jacksonville, Fla., Pensacola, Fla., and Greenville, S.C., locations. This acquisition is a mark of our long term commitment to the industry and to our customers,” he said.

The Red Top Auction Atlanta is led by father and son team Wallace And Cory Sanford, officials explained.

Lange went on to say, “The Red Top Auto Auction Atlanta has distinguished itself as a dynamic and customer-friendly auction. When we buy an auction, we look far beyond the physical layout and its technological capabilities. It is important to us that the auction has a strong team in place, and we know that the Sanfords and their staff will continue to impact the region as the newest member of the America’s Auto Auction.”

And ABC executives expressed their enthusiasm for the recent news, as well.

Offering congratulations on the acquisition is Mike Hockett, chief executive officer of ABC, who had been operating the auction in partnership with Wallace Sanford since 2003.

“Wallace and I have enjoyed a wonderful partnership and friendship in Atlanta for the past eight years, and under his leadership the auction has grown to become a strong force in the marketplace. His commitment to the independent dealer is a perfect fit for America’s Auto Auction, and this move will not only expand on his business philosophy but will allow him to feather back on his daily responsibilities as his son Corey assumes the duties as general manager. My congratulations and best wishes to them both,” Hockett noted.

Richard Gundy, chairman and CEO of America’s Auto Auction, added, “Red Top Auto Auction Atlanta is a welcome addition to the America’s Auto Auction family.  The management team in Atlanta has developed strong and enduring relationships with its new and used car dealers, as well as regional and national accounts in the greater Atlanta area.

“It is important that our auctions maintain a keen focus on both our buyers and sellers, in order to maximize a healthy local market and to build a strong foundation for institutional accounts in remarketing vehicles,” he continued.

America’s Auto Auction now has 10 locations, in seven states; Florida, Texas, Oklahoma, Illinois, Pennsylvania, South Carolina and Georgia.
