DALLAS — America's Auto Auction recently revealed it acquired another auction location, raising the group's total to eight. The company secured Gulf States Auto Auction in Pensacola, Fla.

Later this year, the company plans to rename this newly acquired facility America's Auto Auction — Pensacola. Executives said the facility has five auction lanes and encompasses more than 15 acres. The site holds weekly sales each Tuesday at 9:30 a.m.

Furthermore, America's Auto Auction officials pointed out that their newest addition will continue to offer vehicles for sale on OVE.com, in addition to being part of Auction Pipeline. They also mentioned this site uses the AutoIMS inventory management system for national account sales.

"I am pleased to announce that effective Jan. 19, Gulf States Auto Auction has joined the America's Auto Auction team," noted Ben Lange, president of Americas Auto Auction, in a statement sent out late last week.

"Over the past nine years, Gulf States AA has been very successful in providing the highest levels of service to their existing customers and has a great auction team in place. The staff is highly motivated and has exceptional industry experience," he went on to say.

"We are also pleased that the auction founder and longtime industry veteran DeWayne Musick will continue as auction general manager during an initial transition period," Lange pointed out.

"Additionally, the outstanding and knowledgeable auction staff that has truly made this auction successful in the Florida Panhandle and southern Alabama region will continue to operate the auction," he added.

America's Auto Auction also noted that the addition of Gulf States AA boosts the group's presence in Florida, joining America's Auto Auction — Jacksonville. The company also has facilities in Dallas; Houston; Austin, Texas; Tulsa, Okla.; Greenville, S.C.; and Pittsburgh.

Each individual location is also a member of the National Auto Auction Association.

"As we continually evaluate auction acquisition opportunities, Gulf States AA stood out as a great fit with our corporate philosophy and strategy," said Richard Gundy, chief executive officer of America's Auto Auction.

"Our auctions have maintained and further developed a keen focus on working with auto dealers — both franchise and independent — and both buyers and sellers," Gundy continued.

"We feel this focus to the dealer, especially in last year's challenging environment, also produces a strong foundation for institutional accounts to remarket vehicles," he stressed.

"As we evaluated the possibility of an acquisition, we found that DeWayne Musick and his team at Gulf States AA shared this same focus and philosophy," Gundy concluded.
