DALLAS -

America’s Auto Auction continues to expand its footprint. The company said Monday that it has added a ninth member with the purchase of Tri-State Auto Auction of Chicago.

“I am pleased to announce that effective today, Tri-State Auto Auction of Chicago takes its place as the newest member of our auction family,” stated Ben Lange, America’s Auto Auction president. “Tri-State Auto Auction has served dealers and institutional accounts well for over a decade, and has distinguished itself as a premier auto auction in the Chicagoland market.”

Lange also noted that Tri-State Auto Auction will still have the same general manager, Larry Hero, who will stay on.

“With nearly 20 years of experience in this market, Larry is well-known in the Chicago area and leads a staff that is known for its responsiveness and professionalism,” Lange shared. “His proven abilities in auction operations, coupled with his expertise in sales and marketing will help shape TSAA’s growth as a member of the America’s Auto Auction group.”

Richard Gundy, chief executive officer of America’s Auto Auction offered his commentary, as well: “We will continue to add auctions in the strongest targeted geographical locations as we build the America’s Auto Auction brand.

“The Chicago market is the heart of the country’s Midwest region, and critical to providing our National Account customers strong and consistent remarketing operations,” he continued. “Likewise, TSAA’s focus on service and customer satisfaction to the dealer base is an ideal fit for our corporate philosophy and business strategy.”

Officials said there are more than 1,000 vehicles up for sale each week at TSAA. The consignment includes dealer trades, repossessed vehicles and government vehicles, in addition to boats and trucks.

Its dealer sales take place at 9 a.m. (CST) on Wednesdays and its public sales are hosted on Saturdays.
