5 Consecutive Months of Double-Digit Growth in Interest for Used Porsches
For the fifth month in a row, there was a double-digit-percentage increase in the number of unique lookups for used Porsche models on NADAguides.com.
Specifically, consumer activity for Porsche in November climbed 16 percent year-over-year, according to data included in the latest Guidelines report from NADA Used Car Guide.
This was more than double the increase shown by any other brand and represented the fourth straight month that Porsche has shown the most growth in consumer interest on NADAguides.com.
NADA Used Car Guide automotive analyst David Paris indicated that the vehicles in the brand’s lineup pushing these gains were the 911, whose search activity was up 26 percent year-over-year in November, and the Boxter (up 24 percent).
As for other models, there was an 11-percent uptick for the Cayman, Paris said. Searches for the Cayenne were down 6 percent and interest for the Panamera dipped 5 percent.
“The entire Porsche lineup is relatively new and I believe a lot of the recent consumer activity is from prospective buyers who are curious about late-model vehicle pricing, specifically if values have decreased because of the launch of redesigned models,” Paris said.
“It’s also important to remember that Porsche is a small niche brand, and as you would expect the, actual number of consumers seeking out Porsche data is also very small compared to larger brands,” he continued.
Meanwhile, second on the list for year-over-year increase in consumer activity in November was Kia, whose unique lookups climbed 7 percent.
It was followed by Volvo and Saab (both up 5 percent) then Mazda and GMC (both up 4 percent).
Consumer activity for Saturn and Mercury was up 3 percent each, and six brands climbed 2 percent (Audi, Cadillac, Lincoln, Infiniti, MINI and Mitsubishi).
Volkswagen, Suzuki, Buick and Acura each saw their consumer interest increase 1 percent from November 2012, while Subaru, Chrysler, Mercedes-Benz, Jeep and Hyundai were essentially static.
Thirteen brands in the NADAguides.com data set experienced declines in used-car consumer interest.
