Chevrolet Dominates Top 15 Most-Researched Used Vehicles; Who Leads Brand Rankings?
While NADA Used Car Guide also rattled off the top 15 used vehicles most researched on NADAguides.com last month, analysts noticed how Buick and Audi strengthened their momentum for year-over-year gains in consumer activity.
In July, Buick led the way with a 23-percent gain in consumer activity, and Audi wasn’t far off that pace with a 21-percent upswing.
The August edition of Guidelines also mentioned Mini was another brand generating a consumer activity jump of more than 20 percent as the sporty import badge came in with a 22-percent year-over-year gain.
In June, Buick topped the consumer-activity chart with Audi coming in right behind. However, last month’s increases were much stronger as Buick’s uptick in June was just 7 percent while Audi’s rise was only 6 percent.
A total of 16 brands posted double-digit consumer activity gains last month. NADA UCG indicated the year-over-year upticks were as follows:
—Mercury: 19 percent
—Porsche: 19 percent
—Saab: 19 percent
—Mercedes-Benz: 18 percent
—GMC: 15 percent
—Saturn: 13 percent
—Volkswagen: 12 percent
—Volvo: 12 percent
—BMW: 12 percent
—Chrysler: 12 percent
—Cadillac: 12 percent
—Mazda: 11 percent
—Lexus: 11 percent
—Kia: 10 percent
—Suzuki: 10 percent
—Lincoln: 10 percent
Just two badges sustained year-over-year drops in consumer activity last month according to NADA UCG. Those brands included Hummer (down 4 percent) and Land Rover (down 5 percent)
Top 15 Most-Researched Used Models in July
NADA UCG discovered Chevrolet vehicles constituted a third of the Top 15 most-researched used vehicles last month.
That group included the Silverado 1500, Impala, Cobalt, Tahoe and Malibu. The entire list for July went as follows:
