Welcome to your next stopping point, now it’s time to reflect.

How did the past year finish? Like you planned it? Better? Worse?

Will 2024 be one to remember – or one you would rather forget?

Either way, it’s time to evaluate what went right and what could have gone better, but most important: Why?

You can’t change the past, but you can learn from it. Everything is an opportunity to learn and grow. if you feel you did well in 2024, that’s great to hear. To you, I ask:

  • What made it happen?
  • Can you repeat it?
  • Can you make it even better next year?

Some of the success was the result of a little planning meeting up with good timing. Some might want to call this success lucky, but don’t sell yourself short. Enjoy the things that went well. Don’t overlook them because that’s simply the way they were supposed to be. They’re still achievements worth celebrating.

Now, for the things that didn’t go so well. Here are your questions:

  • What made it happen?
  • How do we not repeat it?
  • How do we make it better in 2025?

Sound familiar? Of course it does, It’s not complicated. The challenge is to actually take the time to look back and evaluate.

Here is the GOLDEN RULE:

You are never as good as you think you are when things are going great — and you are never as bad as you think you are when things aren’t going well.

It’s still the same you either way. You didn’t all the sudden forget what you’re doing. Take a deep breath, evaluate what happened, learn from your mistakes and adjust your game plan accordingly.

Now for the good stuff. No matter what happened yesterday, today is the here and now, and guess what? The world is still turning, and the sun still came up. What you decide to do with today is really all that matters; that’s why it’s called “The Present.” It’s a gift from you — to you.
