ATLANTA -

The trend continues. Luxury units remained hard to find this past month, especially certified pre-owned units, according to AutoTrader.com.

October’s installment of vehicle scarcity data that is provided monthly to Auto Remarketing by AutoTrader.com, showed nine out of the top 10 nationally scarce CPO models are in the luxury segment.

This has been the trend most of the fall season as September statistics showed the same story.

And a few nameplates are proving particularly hard to find.

According to AutoTrader.com, four out of the top 10 nationally scarce CPO vehicles are Audis (A8, S4, S5, TT).

At a DMA level, analysis showed that CPO Audis are also particularly scarce in the following areas:

—Atlanta (Audi A6 at No. 3, Audi Q7 at No. 4, Audi A5 at No. 5 and Audi A3 at No. 8)
—Chicago (Audi A8 at No. 2, Audi A6 at No. 6 and Audi A5 at No. 8)
—Dallas/Fort Worth (Audi S5 at No. 2, Audi S4 at No. 5, Audi TT at No. 9 and Audi Q7 at No.10)
—Houston (Audi A5 at No. 1, Audi A6 at No. 2, Audi Q7 at No. 6 and Audi A4 at No. 10)
—New York (Audi TT at No. 2, Audi S4 at No. 5, Audi at No. 6 and Audi A8 at No. 8)
—San Francisco / San Jose / Oakland (Audi A8 at No. 1, Audi A3 at no. 4, Audi S5 at No. 6 and Audi A5 at No. 9)

Also, playing on the luxury nameplate's 2011 Christmas commercials that featured Lexus units tied up with red ribbons on the morning of Dec. 25th, AutoTrader.com says getting a “Lexus for the holidays” may be a bit harder this time around.

Two Lexus models have crept into the top 10 list for national CPO scarcity (LS 430 at No. 7, SC 430 at No. 10), the site shared.

These models also showed up on the CPO Scarcity lists in a few DMAs:  Chicago (Lexus SC 430 at No. 5), Dallas (Lexus LS 430 at No. 6) and Houston (Lexus LS 430 at No. 6).

Industry experts will be speaking on more aspects of the remarketing world today at the National Remarketing Conference during the presentation titled,  "Top Trends in the 2012-2013 Used Car Industry."
