ATLANTA -

During the first month of the year, it seemed truck supply on the lots was back up to normal levels, while luxury vehicles may have proved elusive for dealers and buyers, alike.

According to the latest installment of vehicle scarcity data that is provided monthly to Auto Remarketing by AutoTrader.com, the scarcity we saw with trucks in December has subsided, and the “big theme” in the January data is luxury.

And some highline certified pre-owned models were particularly hard to find, according to the site.

AutoTrader reported that CPO Porsche models were particularly scarce nationally in January, with the Cayman claiming the top spot, and the Cayenne and Boxster in the top 10 for National CPO Scarcity.

The Porsche Boxster also made the top 10 list for national CPO scarcity for the first time this past month.

CPO Porsche models (Boxster, Cayenne, Cayman) are also particularly scarce in the Atlanta, Chicago, Dallas, Los Angeles, New York and San Francisco DMAs

And overall, European luxury brand units proved scarcest.

For example:

—The Audi Q7 (scarce in the Atlanta, Dallas, and Houston DMAs)

—The VW Touareg (scarce in Atlanta, Dallas, Houston and Philadelphia DMAs)

—The Range Rover / Range Rover Sport (scarce in Atlanta, Philadelphia, and San Francisco DMAs)

—The Porsche Cayenne (scarce in Atlanta, Chicago, Dallas, Houston, Los Angeles, New York and San Francisco DMAs)

The Jaguar XK also broke into the top 10 for National CPO Scarcity in January, AutoTrader reported.

The site also offered the below charts to illustrate the scarcity data from January:
