Perhaps some upbeat news about what could be classified as the used-car manufacturing front.

Cox Automotive chief economist Jonathan Smoke reported on Monday that combined new-model sales into large rental, commercial and government fleets rose 55% in November compared to a year ago.

In what might be good for used-vehicle inventory availability down the road, Smoke indicated sales into rental fleets spiked 127% year-over-year, while sales into commercial fleets climbed 29%.

Smoke added in his blog that sales into government fleets surged 15% last month.

That November information builds on what TrueCar reported on the fleet front for October, which contained a 74.8% sales lift year-over-year.

TrueCar tabulated 153,223 new vehicles flowed into the fleet space in October.

The top five OEMs, their fleet sales totals for October and the increase year-over-year, according to TrueCar’s tracking, included:

1. Ford: 39,540 units, up 22.3%
2. General Motors: 34,878 units, up 264.0%
3. Stellantis: 22,503 units, up 36.6%
4. Toyota: 19,584 units, up 79.5%
5. Nissan: 12,268 units, up 19.9%
