iSeeCars: 10 Cities Where Used Price of Prius is Lowest
In light of the evolution of the hybrid once being a car “dreamed up for future” to now having been a widely available car for many years, iSeeCars.com took a close look at the segment’s best-seller: the Toyota Prius.
The site boiled down the 10 U.S. cities where the used Prius can be bought for the lowest amount, and conversely, the 10 cities in which the used Prius is most expensive.
Some of the results — which are detailed in the charts courtesy of iSeeCars below — might surprise you.
Places like Seattle (the most expensive), Portland, Ore., Los Angeles and the San Francisco Bay area had higher-than-market prices. Miami was the least expensive.
iSeeCars did emphasize that, for instance, in L.A. and San Francisco — where used Prius prices were 4 percent higher than the national average — what could be driving such higher prices is stronger demand for this type of vehicle; iSeeCars said in a prior study that these two cites and No. 1 (San Francisco) and No. 2 (L.A.) for greatest percentage of best-MPG cars sold.
The average price nationally for a used Prius is $16,561, iSeeCars said.
The rankings are based on how far each city’s price is from the national average.
