IRVINE, Calif. -

Eight of the 12 segments showing month-over-month growth in their share of used retail shopping interest in November fit into one of three categories: high performance, luxury or sports car.

That’s the latest from Kelley Blue Book, which detailed which brands and models piqued the interest of online shoppers last month as part of the Used Car Edition of its latest Blue Book Market Report.

Atop the list was the high-performance category, whose share of used retail shopping interest on KBB.com was up 10.1 percent from October.

“Leading the charge is the 2008 Jaguar XK Series, which increased 53.8 percent in share during the past month,” Arthur Henry, KBB’s manager of market intelligence and a market analyst, said in the report.

Next was the luxury sports utility (up 7.8 percent), a segment Henry said was pushed by the 2008 Infiniti QX (up 36.5 percent) and the 2007 Lexus GX (up 35.7 percent).

These top two segments were followed by the premium sports car segment (up 7.1 percent) in the No. 3 spot.  Vans were fourth with a 6.7 percent gain, but luxury segments comprised the next five spots on the list.

The share of interest for premium luxury cars was up 6.5 percent sequentially, and they were followed by luxury cars (up 4.3 percent), entry luxury cars (up 3.0 percent), compact luxury cars (up 2.8 percent) and luxury crossovers (up 2.4 percent).

Other segments to show increases were full-size pickup trucks (up 1.7 percent), midsize sport utilities (up 0.8 percent) and compact crossovers (up 0.2 percent).

Overall, the model gaining the most share in interest was the 2007 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 Regular Cab, which saw a 54.3-percent rise from October.

Seven of the next nine vehicles comprising the top 10 models for growth were from luxury brands.
