MetroGistics Raises More Than $19K for Animal Charities
A Halloween party and costume event that brought out witches, ghosts, vampires and other costumers, the second annual MetroGistics Monster Mash fundraiser earlier this month raised more than $19,000 for three charities: Humane Society of Monroe County, Ill., Humane Society of St. Clair County, Mich., and Project VIP (Very Important Pets).
MetroGistics, a full-service transportation company founded by William Billiter and Scott Naz, actively supports local charities through its employee-driven MetroGistics Giving Back Program and through fundraisers like the MetroGistics Monster Mash.
The Oct. 19 event included more than 200 attendees, and featured hors d’oeuvres, drinks, casino games (including roulette and blackjack), auctions, costume contests, and a DJ.
Sponsoring the event were Seafoam Media; Greenway Family Office; Finney’s MMA; S&A Cherokee (parent company of Auto Remarketing); First State Bank; McCarthy, Leonard & Kaemmerer, L.C.; Wors Consulting; Gateway Financial; Cope Brothers Landscaping; and Jerry Yatooma.
The Humane Society of Monroe County, Ill., and The Humane Society of St. Clair County, Mich., are nonprofit organizations that take in rescues and owner surrenders.
The animals are updated on all vaccinations, tested for heartworms, and spayed/neutered, making them available and ready for their forever homes. Project VIP is a television program on KPLR dedicated to animals. The show is designed to reach a broad audience with the intent to educate, entertain and inspire by encouraging viewers to foster or adopt abandoned and abused pets.
“This year’s event was a great time, especially with the addition of casino night,” said Billiter. “Thank you to everyone who attended, our sponsors, and anyone who made a donation. With all of your efforts, we were able to provide funds to great causes. We look forward to another successful Monster Mash next year.”
