TrueCar.com’s Performance Scorecards released Monday revealed big moves from one Japanese automaker as Honda moved into a tie for second place with Hyundai for highest grade by manufacturer. Subaru edged the two out, taking first place with an A+.

Interestingly, even with production struggles stemming from the recent natural disasters in Japan, Honda also made it onto TrueCar.com’s list of biggest gainers among manufacturers, jumping from a D+ grade to an A.

This jump tied the automaker with Hyundai, who also notched a second place spot by manufacturer with an A.

Moving on highlight the highest grades by brand, Mini, Scion and Subaru all tied for first with grades of A+ across the board.

Near the bottom of the list that grades each manufacturer and brand on eight different measurements including pricing, sales, incentives, customer loyalty, market share and days in inventory data, were Suzuki, Saab, Mitsubishi and Porsche.

The four automakers found themselves on the bottom of the barrel by grade and manufacturer, according to TrueCar.com.

Suzuki ranked the lowest by manufacturer with a D, and Saab followed with a D+. Mitsubishi and Porsche tied for third lowest, both with a C-.

For grade by brand, the list looked quite similar. Suzuki bottomed out with a D-, and Saab, Mitsubishi and Porsche followed, all with a D.

So who gained the most ground this time around?

The biggest gainer among manufacturers, from August to September was Honda, who moved from a D+ to an A, moving into second place with Hyundai. Volkswagen also showed a significant gain, rising from a C+ to a B. And rounding off the list was Ford, moving from a C to a B-.

On the other hand, for the biggest decliners from August to September, two luxury brands showed up on the list.

Jaguar saw the biggest fall, moving from an A to a C+, and Porsche also saw a decline, sliding from a B- to a C-. Finishing up the list, Toyota fell from a B+ to a B-, and Mitsubishi moved from a C+ to a C-.
