Used Car Week agenda spotlight: Economic outlook
The all-digital Used Car Week kicks off in less than a week, and one of the auto industry's top economists will be among those sharing insights.
The event begins with Auto Fin Con and the National Auto Finance Association’s Annual Non-Prime Auto Financing Conference, which will run concurrently the week of Nov. 16-20.
On Wednesday of that week (Nov. 18), Cox Automotive chief economist Jonathan Smoke will deliver a presentation on the "2020 Economic Outlook."
Per the session description, Smoke will, "provide an update on the U.S. economy and the auto market’s recovery as we navigate the next phases of the pandemic and recession. He will cover the latest information on employment trends and consumer finances as well as auto sales including up-to-date insights into auto loan credit and vehicle values.
"Key trends to be covered include new and used sales, inventory and supply, prices and valuation, and unemployment and the impact on consumer credit and sentiment," the descripition continues. "He will also highlight differences in trends across the country along with an outlook for the year ahead."
That session will begin at 1:00 pm (ET) on Nov. 18.
