Another Repo Show Headed for Cable Television
In what could raise a few eyebrows and the ire of the repossession industry, another cable TV network is planning a television show that presents what many may view as misrepresenting how typical repo cases are resolved.
Reportedly the producers of Jersey Shore are rolling out a show that is supposed to follow a pair of repossession agents who give debtors one last chance to keep their vehicle by playing in a quiz show.
According to a report compiled by Entertainment Weekly, Spike TV is calling this show Repo Games, a program network executives described as “Cops meets Jeopardy.”
Entertainment Weekly indicated the network has ordered 20 episodes of Repo Games.
“The guys featured on Repo Games share that same authentic, real-life persona that will resonate with Spike’s expanding audience,” Spike programming head Sharon Levy told Entertainment Weekly. “We are thrilled to partner with the incredibly creative production teams that developed the Jersey Shore to bring these unique concepts to life.”
Two repossession-related shows that are often seen as controversial are already shown on truTV — Operation Repo and All Worked Up.
