DETROIT — Although not quite to the levels of its heyday a couple of years ago, AOL Autos recently discussed the growth of vehicle leasing and picked what it thinks are the best deals for May.

Topping the chart was the deal available on the 2011 Hyundai Sonata.

"The 2011 Sonata has exploded onto the scene with a fresh styling and great fuel economy, making a quantum leap past its predecessors. It is one more sign that the Korean auto industry aims to be taken seriously," AOL Autos correspondent Gary Hoffman wrote.

"Consumers end up with a vehicle that nicely matches their post-recession aspirations while helping to protect them from the inevitable increases in gasoline prices," Hoffman continued.

Along with the Hyundai vehicle, Hoffman also pointed to attractive lease options for the Kia Forte and Soul as well as the Scion xD.

"In much of the compact segment, consumers who are still coping with the soft economy can find plenty of rates in the $150 to $170 range," Hoffman insisted.

AOL offered a lease rundown of 20 vehicles in five different segments — compact cars, fashion statements, crossovers, family cars and luxury cars. More details are available through the site at http://autos.aol.com/article/best-lease-deals-of-the-month/.
