ARI Hosts Congressman for Industry Update and Tour
Automotive Resources International recently welcomed its area’s U.S. House representative to its global headquarters, connecting with the elected official whose family has history in the auto industry.
ARI hosted Rep. Jon Runyan, who represents New Jersey’s 3rd District, so the congressman could gain a better understanding of ARI, parent company Holman Automotive Group, and the issues that face the vehicle fleet management industry today.
Runyan also spent time meeting some of the ARI employees to learn about their roles in supporting the car and truck fleet needs of Fortune 1000 companies around the world and government agencies in the U.S. and Canada.
ARI pointed out that it has experienced tremendous business growth over the last few years and has added more than 100 employees so far in 2011.
Runyan talked with ARI president Carl Ortell and Mindy Holman, president and chief executive officer of Holman Automotive Group.
In addition to other company leaders from ARI and Holman, Pam Sederholm, executive director of the American Automotive Leasing Association joined the group for discussion on the fleet management industry.
“We were delighted that Congressman Runyan was able to visit us to discuss the issues facing the fleet management industry,” Ortell remarked.
“But most importantly, it was great that he took the time to tour our building and talk with many of our employees about how they provide world-class service to our clients around the world,” Ortell continued.
“In addition, we very much appreciate that the congressman also took the time to answer the many questions posed by our people,” Ortell added.
Runyan was born in Flint, Mich., where his father worked for General Motors for more than 30 years. Runyan, just the fourth former professional football player to be elected to the House, described his visit by stating he “was pleased to sit down with the employees of ARI and learn about both the accomplishments and the challenges they face.
“As a family-owned business of more than 60 years, I look forward to their continued success in southern New Jersey,” Runyan concluded.
