Asbury Automotive Group, one of the nation’s largest automotive retail and service companies, has been named by U.S. News & World Report as one of its Best Companies to Work For in the retail sector.

Asbury was one of 349 companies recognized across 20 fields of work based on factors contributing to job seekers’ decision-making when choosing a workplace that best meets their needs in their industries of interest.

“We strive to create a supportive environment in which our team members thrive both personally and professionally,” Asbury president and CEO David Hult said in a news release. “Our team members set us apart from our competition, and we strive to give back to them by creating an empowering workplace environment. When our team members succeed, our company succeeds.”

In compiling the list, U.S. News & World Report looked at how companies measure up to the expectations of their employees and compare to their competitors for top talent within their industries. Among other factors, the ratings consider quality of pay, work-life balance and opportunities for professional development and advancement by industry.

“The 2024 list recognizes companies that scored highest on a variety of metrics that contribute to a positive work environment and day-to-day employee experience in their respective industries,” U.S. News managing editor of money Susannah Snider said.

To calculate the Best Companies to Work For by industry lists, U.S. News considered companies that were a part of the Russell 3000 index as of June 2023 and rated in the top 20% of their industry. Each company had to have a minimum of 75 Glassdoor reviews written between 2020-2022, and companies were grouped according to the industry classification benchmark used by the FTSE Russell.

Asbury currently operates 138 new vehicle dealerships representing 31 brands, as well as Total Care Auto Powered by Landcar, a provider of service contracts and vehicle protection products, and 31 collision repair centers.
