SCOTTSDALE, Ariz. — Barrett-Jackson announced its preliminary schedule for its first collector car auction to be held in southern California.

The company indicated it already is accepting consignment and bidder applications for its inaugural Barrett-Jackson Orange County Collector Car Auction. The sale is set for June 25 to 27 at the Orange County Fair & Event Center in Costa Mesa, Calif.

Auction executives highlighted that before the three-day sale begins, a road rally and cruise-in is planned. They also mentioned that SPEED plans to broadcast 18 hours of live lane action in high definition.

"The West Coast is a vibrant collector car market and represents a great opportunity to grow the hobby among new enthusiasts and veteran collectors alike," noted Craig Jackson, chairman and chief executive officer of Barrett-Jackson.

"People who have attended our auctions or watched them on SPEED have been asking us to bring a car event to southern California for years. This fourth event is designed to feed that demand in the area with a diverse docket of the best vehicles available on the market," Jackson continued.

"We plan to include ride & drives, top vendors and lifestyle activities, all with uniquely California-style flair," he added.

Executives mentioned that the Orange County Fair & Event Center is located off of Interstates 405 and 55 at 88 Fair Drive in Costa Mesa. They explained the event  is slated to encompass all of the facility's grounds and include the famous collector car auction, sponsor promotions and displays, vendors, exhibitors, interactive demonstrations, parties and other festivities with hundreds of vehicles crossing the block.

Barrett-Jackson also pointed out that it plans to offer online bidding for potential buyers from throughout the world who are unable to attend the auction.

"The Orange County auction will include the same kind of excitement and magic that people enjoy at our other auctions in Scottsdale, Palm Beach and Las Vegas," insisted Steve Davis, president of Barrett-Jackson.

"The new OC Fair & Event Center is the perfect place to create an event that will cater to anyone who loves this hobby," Davis went on to say. "From the fantastic cars to celebrities, once in a lifetime experiences and hot auction action, this will be a fantastic weekend for everyone."

Steve Beazley, chief executive officer of the OC Fair & Event Center, also expressed his enthusiasm about the Barrett-Jackson event coming to southern California.

"We're elated that Barrett-Jackson is bringing the high octane excitement of their auction to Orange County," Beazley stated.

"Not only will they rev up the enthusiasm of the collector car hobby in Southern California, but we believe the event will have a positive impact on our local economy and tourism, as well as create some great national visibility for OCFEC, Costa Mesa and Orange County," he continued.
