CarGurus adds product and technology veteran as chief product officer
CarGurus has named Ismail Elshareef, a business veteran with more than 20 years experience in building consumer transaction products and value-added solutions for small and midsize businesses, as its new chief product officer.
Elshareef will begin his new position Feb. 1. He’ll be responsible for leading CarGurus’ product strategy and roadmap with a focus on driving value to consumers, dealers and the overall business.
“We believe Ismail’s marketplace expertise across subscription and transaction-based models will play a critical role in our work to evolve our platform into a powerful transaction-enabled destination supporting both consumers and dealers,” CarGurus CEO Jason Trevisan said in a news release.
“His unwavering focus on the customer and commitment to driving change through collaboration and transparency reflects our core values and will be invaluable as we work toward our goals for continued innovation.”
Elshareef’s product experience ranges from consumer brands to growing software as a service providers. Most recently he served as chief product officer at OneFootball, a global sports media company covering 200 soccer leagues, playing a key role in rebuilding team processes and refining strategy to accelerate growth.
He also led product, engineering and infrastructure as CPO of UpKeep and has held leadership positions with Ticketmaster and Edmunds.com.
