PORTLAND, Ore. -

DealerTrack’s Chrome Systems revealed today it has expanded its vehicle image gallery, giving dealers and automotive websites even more options to choose from when searching for images of the most popular and requested vehicle shots and angles.

The company contends the newly expanded gallery offers a “ comprehensive and cost-effective library of vehicle photographs for enhancing vehicle descriptions and creating eye-catching online presentations.”

Amit Maheshwari, general manager at DealerTrack Data Services, commented on the news, noting,  "Our new Chrome Image Gallery is the next best thing to a test drive.

“Chrome’s studio-quality multi-view and color-matched images deliver the broad coverage and exact angles automotive retailers need to economically enhance their online vehicle data and take their listings to the next level of presentation,” he continued.

Touting up to 21 of the some of the most requested exterior and interior vehicle views — as well as three exterior angles of color-matched images in all paint colors available for specific makes and models  —  the solution’s images can be delivered through a common media server and can be linked to a Chrome StyleID for integration optimization.

Other expanded features include large (640 x 480) and small (320 x 240) size image options,  and the updated images begin with the 2010 model year with subsequent model years added as they become available for all cars and light-duty trucks in the U.S. and Canada, officials noted.

As for expanded benefits for users, the inventory descriptions have been enhanced, potentially bringing in more leads and sales.

The company also stressed the gallery is now even easier to use.

Users can bring a complete library of images to their site with links to each vehicle’s Chrome Style ID and can also decide how they want the images delivered — as image files or through a media server.
