Chrysler Boosts Reimbursement for Adaptive Equipment
As part of its Automobility program to help customers with special needs, Chrysler has upped the reimbursement for the installation of adaptive driver or passenger equipment to $1,000 across its lineup.
Now, owners of all eligible Chrysler, Jeep, Dodge and Ram vehicles who have special needs can receive up to a $1,000 reimbursement for converting their vehicles. Previously, the limit was $750, except for Dodge Grand Caravan and Chrysler Town & Country, which already had $1,000 limits.
This reimbursement is on top of the other incentive offerings from the automaker.
The announcement was made at the 20th annual National Mobility Equipment Dealers Association event in Daytona Beach, Fla.
Discussing the Automobility program in more detail, officials noted that it is designed to help offset the costs of customers needing to add such adaptations to the vehicles as rear-door lifts for wheelchairs and hand controls the driver can use to steer and stop the vehicle and accelerate.
“We continue to have an unwavering commitment to the continued success of the Automobility Program so that our special-needs customers can fully participate in society and enjoy the freedom and independence that automotive transportation makes possible,” stated Fred Diaz, president and chief executive officer of the Ram truck brand and lead executive for U.S. sales.
