AUBURN HILLS, Mich. — In a move that could help boost sales for the automaker in a highly profitable segment, Chrysler has rolled out a revamped certified pre-owned vehicle program that, among other improvements, includes a greater number of the automaker's dealers offering CPO models.

The re-launched program features a dedicated CPOV Web site, in addition to continued partnerships with AutoTrader.com, Cars.com and Edmunds.com to help consumers along in their shopping process.

There will also be more CPO inventory available, officials said.

As part of the revamped program, Chrysler has launched a new CPO site at www.certifiedpreowned.chrysler.com.

Moreover, dealers can also offers consumers a slew of benefits via certified vehicles, many of which can foster "peace of mind" among shoppers and increase the chance of sales. 

These include the following:  

—CPO models undergo a 125-point vehicle inspection with upgraded reconditioning exclusively using MOPAR parts. Officials explained MOPAR parts are "engineered to the same standard as the original equipment part."

—A Carfax vehicle history report.

—A three-month/3,000 mile Maximum Care Warranty that includes "virtually all operational components."

—A six-year/80,000 mile transferable Powertrain Limited Warranty with 24-hour/365-day "sign and go" roadside assistance.

—Three months of free SIRIUS satellite radio subscription for models equipped with this service.

—Should the vehicle require overnight service, there is a $35 rental vehicle allowance provided.

—A full range of service contracts. This includes lifetime warranty upgrades.

"Now is the perfect time to benefit from a certified pre-owned vehicle purchase," stated Fred Diaz, president and chief executive officer of the Ram brand and lead executive for the sales organization at Chrysler Group.

"Chrysler Group LLC's Certified Pre-owned Vehicles take the uncertainty out of purchasing a pre-owned vehicle," Diaz continued. "Our program offers consumers 'certified' peace of mind with benefits like a Carfax vehicle history report, 125-point inspection, and some of the best warranty options in the business."

Vehicles eligible for the program must have fewer than 65,000 miles and be less than six model years old.

Diaz added: "We are excited about, and believe customers will appreciate, the improvements to the program. The new Web site, www.certifiedpreowned.chrysler.com, offers a number of features that help customers easily find a vehicle that fits their lifestyle."
