SPOKANE, Wash. — DAA Northwest on Monday unveiled a new auto racing sponsorship meant to promote weekly sales as well as up-and-coming competitive drivers from the region.

In conjunction with Sherwin-Williams and NASCAR Sprint Cup Series driver Greg Biffle, the auction announced the formation of the DAA Northwest Spec Motor Series presented by Sherwin Williams.

The DAA Northwest Spec Motor Series presented by Sherwin-Williams will feature late-model local drivers who compete in 22 events on six tracks for a piece of the $25,000 series points fund.

Biffle will make a personal appearance at DAA Northwest during the auction's upcoming NASCAR Days promotion.

Following a Wednesday afternoon sale on April 14, dealer guests will enjoy dinner, a presentation and a Q&A session with Biffle.

The next afternoon, NASCAR Days sales will culminate with a drawing for two VIP passes, airfare and accommodations to the Talladega Cup on April 25.

DAA Northwest owners and auction veterans Bob McConkey and Greg Mahugh pointed out how closely they're tied to the Pacific Northwest's automotive community.

"All of us in the industry have a passion for cars — and racing embodies that spirit," Mahugh pointed out. "We're glad to be working with Greg Biffle and Sherwin-Williams on this endeavor."

Added McConkey, "We are proud to support Greg Biffle's efforts in bringing the Spec Motor Series to our region."

McConkey went on to say that "DAA Northwest's values are integrity, excellence, professionalism and fun. We consider these values in every major decision we make, and with it came to the series, everything fit."

Biffle is a native of the Pacific Northwest. He recalled his days as a young driver and the importance of grassroots racing. It's why he chose to be involved with the DAA Northwest Spec Motor Series

"I remember starting out and how tough it was," Biffle stated. "I would work on other people's race cars during the day and then mine all night. I think it's important having a racetrack and series that operates week-in and week-out, giving every driver a place to showcase all their hard work."

The inaugural season of the DAA Northwest Spec Motor Series presented by Sherwin-Williams starts April 24 at the Willamette Speedway in Lebanon, Ore.
