ATLANTA -
DataScan Field Services recently rolled out a new vehicle inspection service that it says can help foster greater confidence in online vehicle shoppers.
Here is how the services of InspectMyRide are designed to work.
When a shopper finds a vehicle they are considering, the individual can visit the InspectMyRide website. While there, the consumer must go through “3 steps to inspect.”
One of DataScan’s professional vehicle inspectors will conduct a 150-plus-point inspection. There are various digital photographs taken as well as a road test should conditions permit.
InspectMyRide will notify the customer via e-mail within a day of the inspection wrapping up, and the shopper can then go the InspectMyRide website to look at the report.
An Experian AutoCheck vehicle history report summary is also given to the shopper.
Officials said the starting prices for inspections are as low as $129.
“This is an exciting and innovative service that helps online shoppers feel more confident about their purchases,” said DataScan business development director Richard Carpentier. “With InspectMyRide, consumers shopping for vehicles receive the tools they need to make the right decision for them.”
Brent Sergot, vice president and general manager of DataScan, added: “Buying a vehicle is a big decision. While purchasing vehicles online offers great value, convenience and a wide selection, it does increase your risk.
“With InspectMyRide, you can help protect yourself by validating that the vehicle matches its online description, and add peace-of-mind to the process by putting a professional inspector to work for you when you cannot see the car yourself,” he continued.
